Cherry Hill Apartments Renovations
218 Middlesex Turnpike, Chester CT 06412.

Sealed bids are invited and will be received by the Town of Chester hereinafter referred to as the Owner, until 4:00 PM, Thursday, May 8th, 2020 at the Office of the First Selectman, Chester Town Hall, 203 Middlesex Avenue, Chester, CT 06412 at which time all bids will be publicly opened and read aloud.
Proposals must be submitted in triplicate on the forms provided in the bidding documents are to be submitted in a sealed envelope plainly marked with the appropriate title “Cherry Hill Renovation Project. There are 23 units at the Cherry Hill Apartments. To receive consideration, bids must be in the hands of the authorized representative no later than the day and hour mentioned above.
Attention of bidders is directed to certain requirements of this contract which require payment of Federal (Davis Bacon) and State prevailing wages, and compliance with all local, state and federal requirements including but not limited to Equal Opportunity and Section 3. This is a federally funded project. Work will include replacement of sidewalk and parking lot, windows and exterior doors, heat pumps and new siding.
All bids shall include a 5% Bid Bond in accordance with Instruction To Bidders, A 100% Performance Bond and Payment Bond will be required for all work. The time limit for completion of the Work shall be 180 calendar days after the date set forth in the written Notice To Proceed as noted in the Agreement. All sureties must be listed on the most recent IRS Circular 570.

Selectman Chester at adminassistant@chesterct.org or by purchasing them from Essex Printing at 18 Industrial Park Rd, Centerbrook, CT 06409.

A Mandatory Pre-Bid Conference will be held to review the scope of work at the Cherry Hill apartments on Friday, April 24th, 2020 at 1:00 PM at the Cherry Hill apartments at 218 Middlesex Turnpike in Chester CT. All prospective bidders are required to attend.
The Owner reserves the right to accept or reject any or all bids, to waive any informalities, or to accept any bid deemed in the best interest of the Owner. All bids will be considered valid for a period of sixty (60) days. The owner will consider the lowest responsible bid.
AN AFFIRMATIVE ACTION/EQUAL OPPORTUNITY EMPLOYER MBE’s, WBE’s and SBE’s are encouraged to submit bids.

Citation Review Board April 13, 2020 Regular Meeting

Notice is given there will not be a Regular Meeting of the Citation Review Board on April 13, 2020.

In compliance with the Governor’s Executive Order limiting the number of persons in a gathering, action on two requests for review that have been filed has been deferred to a later date. The two requests, and any which may be submitted in the interim, will be acted on at the first regularly scheduled meeting following release of that Executive Order. Those will include the following:

Citation #026-0102 – Robert Galbraith for No Parking Zone – Parker’s Point Ramp

Citation #026-0103 – Abran Smith for Failure to Obey a Stop Sign – Ridge Road/Brook Lane

Both parties have been notified by Certified Mail of the deferment of action, with fees and penalties waived in the interim.
