Harbor Management

The Chester Harbor Management  has completed the revision of the Harbor Management Plan and can be seen with the link below or a hard copy can be reviewed at the Town Hall.

The Harbor Management Commission reviews and manages the Town’s Harbor Management Plan to follow the guidelines from the Department of Environmental Protection.

Procedure for issuing Mooring Permits:

Mooring Permit 2022
Request for Application comes into Selectman Office c/o Administrative Assistant.

Complete the application and return it to the Administrative Assistant. Include specific site if known, print off one of the illustrations below, mark the site, and include the print with the application.

Administrative Assistant  forwards the application packet to the Harbor Management Commission.

Harbor Management Commission copies application and check, then forwards the original application and copy of the check to the Harbor Master.

Harbor Management Commission submits check to the town Treasurer for processing.

Harbormaster signs the Permit assigns a mooring site and returns the Permit, with a mooring sticker, to the Applicant.

If no internet access, then the Administrative Assistant may:

  1. Direct applicant to contact the Harbormaster, or
  2. Invite the applicant to the office to pick up a hard copy then,
  3. Follow the  above procedure.
