The Registrars of Voters Office Hours are most Tuesdays, from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm.

Our polling place is Town Hall, 203 Middlesex Avenue,  2nd floor

Voter Registration Requirements

To register in Connecticut, you must:

  • be a United States citizen
  • be a resident of a Connecticut town
  • be at least 17 years old (must turn 18 before election day)
  • have completed confinement and parole if previously convicted of a felony and have had your voting rights restored by Registrar

Voter registration cards are available at Town Hall, the Chester Public Library, the Department of Motor Vehicles, or online.

Absentee Ballots:

If you will be out of town on election day you can submit an application for an absentee ballot by contacting the Town Clerk at 860 526 0013 ext 511 or by downloading and filling out the online form by following this link –

Next Election: April 28, 2020 Democratic and Republican Presidential Preference Primary.
Polls will be open from 6AM – 8PM.
Only voters enrolled with the Democratic or Republican parties are eligible to vote.
