Voter Registration Requirements
To register in Connecticut, you must:
- be a United States citizen
- be a resident of a Connecticut town
- be at least 17 years old (must turn 18 before primary/election day)
- have completed confinement and parole if previously convicted of a felony and have had your voting rights restored by Registrar
Voter registration cards are available at Town Hall, the Chester Public Library, the Department of Motor Vehicles, or online.

If you will be out of town on election day you can submit an application for an absentee ballot by contacting the Town Clerk at 860 526 0013 ext 511 or by downloading and filling out the online form by following this link – http://www.sots.ct.gov/sots/lib/sots/electionservices/electforms/electforms/aabeng.pdf.
