Revaluation Notices & Informal Hearings

Revaluation assessment notices are being mailed November 13, 2013 to all residential and commercial property owners. This notice will include your property’s existing assessment based on the last revaluation as of October 1, 2018 and your new, proposed assessment based on the October 1, 2023 market value. Remember, your assessed value is 70% of the market value. This assessment will be multiplied by the mill rate [to be voted on in the Spring of 2024] to calculate your July 2024 tax bill.

Your revaluation notice will also include information regarding how to schedule an informal hearing with Chester’s Revaluation Company: eQuality Valuation Services. Informal hearings are a beneficial resource should you wish to contest, ask questions, or discuss your new assessment as determined by the 2023 revaluation. Chester residents are encouraged to take advantage of the opportunity to be heard should you have any concerns regarding your 2023 property valuation. eQuality will be conducting informal hearings the last week of November 27- December 8, 2023. Please do not delay scheduling your hearing as time is limited.
